The day death returned

The ground trembled.
Giant rocks started rising from the ground, their dark surfaces covered with twisted faces.
The ground trembled.
A shrill shriek, like the shriek of thousand bloodthirsty ravens, rose from the center of the terrifying rocks.
It seemed to say "Finally!".
The acolyte was trembling, he started to doubt his actions, what if it didn't work?.
But then, it stood there. A moment ago it had still been shrieking in it's eternal prison, and just one heartbeat later it was there, towering above him.
The acolyte raised his hands in the air and shouted "Master!".

And that was the last thing he would ever say.
